How many movies can I check out at once?

That depends on your plan. Here they are:

  • 1 DVD - $9.95
  • 3 DVD - $19.95
  • 5 DVD - $29.95
  • 7 DVD - $37.95
When you send a movie back, we'll send you another as soon as it arrives!

How long can I keep a movie?

As long as you want! Since you're billed every month automatically, there are no late fees, or penalties for keeping a title as long as you like. Send it back right away, or take your time, it's up to you.

How do I cancel or reactivate my membership?

Simply send an email to service@rentanime.com, and we'll deactivate your account right away. Please note: billing remains active until all DVDs are returned. If you are billed after cancellation, we can refund you as long as the DVDs arrive back within a week of billing.

To reactivate, just drop us an email at service@rentanime.com. If you were a customer before we switched billing systems (roughly in mid-2006) you may need to call and provide new billing info over the phone at 888 MY ANIME (692-6463).

I received a broken DVD!!!

Unfortunately, the postal service likes to fold, spindle and mutilate our discs sometimes. Honestly, we don't know what the heck they do with them. .. If you receive a cracked or broken DVD, send it back as normal, put it back on your list to receive another copy. Let us know via email and we'll remove it so you dont' have to wait for it to get back to us.

What is the 'Buy My Copy' link?

When you have a rental in your possession, it shows up on the right sidebar when logged into your account. On many titles, you may use the 'Buy My Copy' option to purchase it, usually at big savings over the retail price. You then keep the disc, and we send you the case for it. (There is a shipping charge of 2.95 for the case).

How do I change my plan?

Email service@rentanime.com to change your plan. We'll change it right away. There may be an additional charge if you change to a larger plan right after being billed for a smaller one.

What day of the month will I get billed?

After your 2 week free trial, your billing begins. Each month, you will be billed on that date. For example, if you sign up for your 2 week free trial on the 1st, your billing will start on the 14th, so your next charge is on the 14th of each month.

Can I pay with a check or be billed in the mail?

Nope. We require a valid credit card for every RentAnime.com DVD Subscription Plan, including all promotions. This is to verify account information, secure orders and prevent fraud.

How do I change my billing info?

Log into your account, and change your info under the 'Account Settings' link.

Can I get a membership outside the US?

Sorry, at this time we only ship to US addresses (including AK, HI, Puerto Rico and Guam).

How are your DVDs sent to me?

DVDs are sent in a prepaid mailer, via USPS First Class mail. To send them back, simply remove the front flap, reseal them, and drop them in any mailbox.

How long does it take to receive my movies?

Of course, this depends on the Postal system. We do not 'throttle' your account in any way, so you are usually mailed a new DVD within 24 hours of the old one being receive back in our warehouse.

How do I report a shipping problem or a disc that won't play?

Discs do frequently get broken in the postal system. Drop us an email at service@rentanime.com letting us know which disc has the problem, then mail it back as normal. Add it to your list again if you want another copy. We'll remove it so that a replacement can be sent as soon as possible.

I lost the prepaid return envelope used for returning the DVD.

If you misplaced one of our prepaid return mailers, you can mail multiple DVDs back in the same mailer. Or, you may send your DVDs in a padded envelope to: RentAnime.com PO BOX 643 OLDSMAR, FL 34677

What if I don't receive a title?

Contact us at service@rentanime.com We understand that things happen and sometimes the U.S. Postal Service can make mistakes and 'lose' discs. Please be sure the disc is missing (not sitting under the couch, behind the DVD player, etc, before contacting us, as too many lost discs on your account can cause the account to be suspended.

What is 'My Rental Queue'?

'My Rental Queue' is the list of movies you've selected to rent. You can update or edit your Request List anytime. Initially, we'll send you the first available DVDs from your Request List. When you're finished watching one of the DVDs you have out, send it back so we can ship the next available title from your Request List. To rent a movie, browse the RentAnime.com site and click the Rent button next to any movie. This title will be added to your Request List.

To adjust the priority of movies, change the number in the Priority column and then click Update Request List. It's also easy to change the priority of more than one movie at a time. Simply change the priority of as many movies as you want and then click Update Request List -- the site will make all the necessary changes. To remove movies from your Request List, check the Remove box next to any movie.

Why did I receive the 2nd or 3rd disc in my Rental Queue before the 1st?

All available copies of the 1st disc were out to other customers. To help you get the most out of your membership, if a title in a higher spot is out of stock, we'll send your next available in-stock title. This way, you will always have great movies on hand! To make sure the system sends discs in series in order, activate the 'series lock' option in your account settings.

What is the Series Lock?

Selecting the Series-Lock checkbox will ensure that the system sends discs in a series in order. If the next disc in a series is unavailable, the system will skip to the next item on your list NOT in that series.

I sent back a DVD but never got the next one in My Rental Queue.

Once a title you return has been checked back into our inventory, you'll receive an email confirmation of its return. We'll then ship the next available title from your Request List. You can always check the My Account page on the site to see whether we have received the movie you've returned.

If you think the title was lost in the mail, contact us at service@rentanime.com. Please allow 2 weeks for the postal system.

If the title came back to us but nothing else is mailing out, check your list. Do you have enough selections?

What is OOP?

OOP means 'Out of Print'. There may be limited available on an OOP title. Usually, we leave them available to rent, even though there may be limited copies, because we're anime fans too, and would rather have only a few copies than none at all. OOP titles are usually removed when all copies have been lost, broken, etc.
